An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented manager, to join the busy, but fulfilling, Student Wellbeing Service, a multi-disciplinary team who provide psychological support to students to help them succeed at university. This is a full-time role for an experienced mental health professional to provide strategic leadership and operational management to the Student Wellbeing Service. The role will require the successful candidate to take the lead on the development of partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of services which meet the needs of students and staff. The postholder will contribute to the university obtaining University Mental Health Charter accreditation and develop an agile, proactive and innovative support service that positively contributes to the University’s 2028 vision.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of effective team management and team development and strong clinical experience of working with people struggling with their mental health, including experience in crisis intervention and of managing client risk. You will also have a therapeutic qualification in a relevant clinical field (e.g. Counselling/Psychotherapy, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Counselling Psychology, etc) and be accredited by a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, NASW, BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BPS etc).
