Our responsibilities also include the preparation of annual financial statements, statutory reporting, and regulatory submissions. We work proactively with Schools, Services, staff, and students to offer financial guidance, maintain compliance, and drive value for money across all operations.</p><p><strong>About the Job</strong></p><p>The Tax and Treasury Manager will be responsible for the University&rsquo;s tax compliance, treasury management, and advisory functions.</p><p>The post holder will ensure adherence to UK and international Tax legislation and work closely with external Tax Advisors. You will be the key point of contact for providing comprehensive VAT, corporation tax and other tax advice and guidance within the Finance Directorate and the wider University community. You will also be responsible for developing the University&rsquo;s tax manual, training resources and maintain tax related content on the University&rsquo;s Finance page on the intranet. Additionally, the post holder will develop and implement tax-efficient practices across the University and its subsidiaries.</p><p>Moreover, the post holder will be responsible for forecasting and monitoring the university&rsquo;s cashflow, including the day-to-day management of the University&rsquo;s bank accounts and cash management. You will also be responsible for reporting on the cash balances to the Finance Directorate and ensuring that the university&rsquo;s foreign exchange risk is minimal.</p><p>Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounts &amp; Compliance as part of a wider Financial Accounts &amp; Management team and will be a key member of the Financial Accounts team and have one direct report. The Financial Accounts team is responsible for financial reporting, capital reporting, internal controls, taxes (including VAT and corporation tax), treasury, income, studentships, accounts receivable and payables.</p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>You will be able to interpret local and international tax legislation, assess their impact, share your findings with senior management and ensure timely implementation of statutory changes.</p><p>You will also be an experienced CCAB qualified accountant or CTA tax professional and a highly motivated individual with tax knowledge of working in a large complex organisation who is able to perform effectively under significant pressure, continuously working within tight deadlines and is expected to act independently without requiring detailed. A central strand to this work is Mentoring for All, a university-wide commitment to ensuring every learner can access meaningful, high-quality mentoring.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">We are seeking a dynamic and driven Mentoring Programme Officer to take ownership of one of the flagship strands of this commitment, The Power Hour. Designed as a scalable, high-impact initiative, Power Hour ensures that all final year students benefit from a structured, one-hour mentoring experience with a trained external mentor, including alumni, industry professionals and partners This role sits at the heart of delivery and combines programme management, workshop facilitation, student triage, mentor coordination, stakeholder engagement, data tracking and quality assurance. You will work closely with the wider Mentoring team and our delivery partner The 1 Hour Project to ensure the programme operates efficiently, inclusively and at scale, while contributing meaningfully to institutional mentoring and employability ambitions.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Lead the delivery and coordination of the Power Hour mentoring programme across its annual cycle</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Design and deliver engaging preparatory workshops (online and in-person) for students</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Manage student engagement, including communications, triage, and programme progression</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Coordinate and support the recruitment, training and management of external mentors</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Match students with appropriate mentors based on interests, goals and background</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Maintain accurate programme data, tracking engagement, outcomes and KPIs</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Produce regular reports and contribute to programme evaluation and continuous improvement</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Build strong relationships across the University and with external partners to support programme growth</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Promote Mentoring for All and increase student engagement through targeted campaigns and events</li></ul><p style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>About You</strong></p><p style="text-align: justify;">We are looking for an organised, proactive, and confident professional who thrives in a delivery-focused environment and is equally comfortable facilitating engaging workshops, supporting students one-to-one, coordinating external partners and using data to evidence impact and drive improvement. You will bring experience in mentoring, employability, student engagement or programme coordination, alongside strong stakeholder management skills and a commitment to widening access to opportunity.
