If you have significant experience gained working as a programme manager, together with excellent project management and business analysis skills, and are looking for a brand new challenge in a vibrant, dynamic and diverse environment, join UEL as a Digital Transformation Programme Manager.
Here at UEL, we’re busy developing and implementing a new strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum and partnerships to make a positive difference to students and the local community. Our goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK - one which prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively. And, right now, the IT Services department has an exciting opportunity for an open-minded, flexible and commercially aware individual to join our Project team and lead them during a challenging period of business change and technological transformation.
The IT Services Project team provides a full end-to-end project management service for technology related business change projects in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Director of IT Services, your challenge will be to ensure the effective delivery of the IT Transformation programme as well as ad hoc projects, from initiation through to review. We’ll also rely on you to manage project budgets and permanent and contract PMO staff efficiently and engage effectively with a variety of senior project stakeholders.
A Prince2, MSP or similar certified practitioner with knowledge of continuous process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and/or ITIL, you’re used to developing complex business cases and managing multiple projects successfully within programmes. You also have a proven track record of delivering business transformation and improving stakeholder outcomes in a large and complex organisation. Strong finance management skills, including forecasting, budget management and financial reporting, are important too, as is the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team.
So, if you would like to play a high profile role in a highly professional team, not to mention benefit from genuine personal progression and career development potential, here’s your opportunity.
At UEL, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a unique working environment that combines a tradition of academic excellence and innovation with a location at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. East London is experiencing rapid development too, making it one of the most stimulating parts of London in which to work. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.
A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by UEL Professional Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of UEL. Employees of UEL Professional Services Ltd work alongside UEL colleagues in delivery of UEL’s mission, and UEL Professional Services Ltd will adopt UEL HR policies and procedures in full.
