The University of East London has been pioneering futures since 1898: from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th. We are a careers-led university, dedicated to supporting our students to develop the skills, emotional intelligence and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly changing world.

The University of East London has been developing and starting to implement a new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success. Our ambitious but achievable goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive future sustainably and inclusively.

The university's student body is rich in its diversity; students are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups with a high proportion from low income groups. We look for outstanding teachers who exude a love of teaching, who inspire students and colleagues through their approach to teaching and who are strongly committed to raising levels of student achievement.

The School has invested heavily in the Professional Health Sciences area with a purpose-built clinical education building. We offer a range of opportunities to our students through our links with employers, the NHS, professional bodies and other organisations.

We now wish to invest in the subject area of Professional Health Science and engage a new Occupational Therapy Lecturer to help develop our new Occupational Therapy Apprenticeship programme, in addition to contributing to other areas of teaching, research and academic administration. A strong commitment to the enhancement of teaching, student experience and progression is thus required.

You will be expected to contribute to the development and management of modules in the Professional Health Science subject area, contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level and engage in educational practice to promote effective learning. You will have a leading role in developing and securing future placements. Additionally, you will be expected to undertake research and participate in knowledge exchange.

You will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and ideally a higher degree in a relevant subject. You should have expertise and experience in one or more areas of clinical practice and have experience of the placement experience.
