About Us
The Strategic Development and Delivery team works in partnership with stakeholders across the institution, combining our specialist expertise, sector knowledge and institutional awareness to support the delivery of our vision to 2028 and beyond. This is a new Directorate for UEL, and comprises four main portfolios;

- Strategy & Performance
- Portfolio & Benefits
- Change & Improvement.
These four service areas facilitate effective decision making, improve our staff and student experience, and deliver lasting positive change.
About the Job
As Statutory Returns Officer you will use your proficiency with data tools and technologies to build high quality statutory data returns from a range of institutional data and information. You will work with stakeholders across the institution to exploit the data assets available, ensuring that the returns timescale can be met and that quality issues are identified and resolved.
Responsibilities include:
- Working as part of a team to deliver statutory data returns
- Identification and exploitation of data sources to meet statutory data requirements
- Joining of data sets to optimise and maximise data insight
- Working across stakeholders to develop understanding of the statutory requirements, and ensuring that data quality is prioritised
About You
We are looking for a motivated Statutory Data Analyst to join our team and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality statutory data returns. This is an opportunity to use your specialist skills to shape how statutory data is managed, understood, and applied across our organisation.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sense of complex data.
- Experience in handling statutory or regulatory data
- Ability to collaborate across departments, including IT, schools, faculties, and external bodies.
- A solutions focused mindset, embracing innovation, technology, and best-fit methods.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise, explain, and influence.
