Our External Relations Directorate brings together Communications & Engagement, Marketing, Student Recruitment & Conversion, Outreach & Access, Digital & Design, Events, and the International Office. About the Job
As Associate Director (Rest of the World Markets), you will lead UEL’s recruitment efforts across multiple international regions, driving strategic growth and diversification. You will be responsible for developing and executing a sector-leading regional sales strategy, managing high-performing recruitment teams, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a high-performing sales team to drive student recruitment across assigned markets.
- Defining and executing a regional sales strategy to achieve ambitious recruitment and conversion targets.
- Building strong partnerships with marketing, admissions, and compliance teams to ensure a seamless student journey.
- Monitoring and reporting on sales performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Managing budgets effectively, ensuring strong return on investment.
- Representing UEL internationally, attending key events and meetings to promote the university.

About You
We are looking for a results-driven leader with a passion for international student recruitment and a deep understanding of global higher education markets. You should bring:
- Proven leadership experience in international student recruitment, with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Strong sales and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop and execute market strategies.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and external partners.
- A data-driven mindset, using insights and CRM tools to drive decision-making
- A willingness to travel extensively, representing UEL in key markets.
- A commitment to innovation, embracing new technologies and approaches to recruitment.
Desirable: Knowledge of UK immigration and compliance regulations for international students and experience in developing marketing campaigns for student recruitment.
